‘Brothers and sisters, we do not want you to be uninformed about those who sleep in death, so that you do not grieve like the rest of mankind, who have no hope. For we believe that Jesus died and rose again, and so we believe that God will bring with Jesus those who have fallen asleep in Him.’
1 Thessalonians 4
Dear Friends,
After a long battle, our dear friend Graham Shrubsole died on Friday (24th Nov) at about 7:35am.
Graham has been a faithful servant of the Lord Jesus for almost all his life. In his work at Sun Life, his role as treasurer here at NBC, as a father, grandad and husband within his family, and in so many other areas of life, Graham has faithfully lived out his desire to see Jesus glorified. He has been a great example to many of us, a beautiful friend, and a fun colleague. We will all miss him.
Graham though would be the first to point our attention to the Saviour he served, to His grace, His mercy, His love, from which nothing can separate us. Let us then go on remembering the good times we have shared with this ‘saint who has gone before us’, thankful that he has ‘run the race’ with diligence and compassion. And, let us give thanks to Almighty God for the love and friendship we have shared.
A service of celebration for Graham’s life will take place at 1pm on Monday 11th December at the Centre to which all are welcome. Meanwhile, please do go on praying for Sandra and the family.
Bless you,
Peter
